Concerts

The concert is part of the Sound of Mountains music charity project and is the final round of the 1st International Competition for Young Composers. The project is organised within the framework of the ICC-Rotary cooperation platform between the Rotary Clubs of Russia and Austria.

Under the terms of the competition, the participants had to compose a suite for chamber orchestra. Some of the additional requirements for the composition were: the use of a musical language, understandable to a wide range of classical music lovers, and the use of images of the mountain world of Russia and Austria.

The concert will present the best works of the competitors that have been selected by the professional jury during the qualifying round. The works will be performed by the St. Petersburg State Conservatory Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Honoured Artist of Russia, Alexey Vasilyev. At the end of the concert, the jury will select the winners of the competition.

An additional surprise for the audience will be special guests of the concert: Iosif Purits (accordion), Yuri Kamanin (guitar), Laura Gfrerer (violin).
